ConnectCoach

Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 October 2026 Version 2026-10-11

Our lawyer is still reviewing this page. It describes how ConnectCoach works today, and it already applies. If anything changes after the review, we will update the date above and tell you about any change that matters. Questions to admin@connectcoach.app.

This page explains what ConnectCoach collects about you, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it.

1.Who we are

ConnectCoach is a product of ConnectPH IT Solutions, the trade name of a sole proprietorship registered in the Philippines (“ConnectPH IT Solutions”, “we”, “us”).ConnectPH IT Solutions is the personal information controller for the information described here, under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its rules.

This policy covers the ConnectCoach app, the customer website at customer.connectcoach.app, and this website. For anything about your information, write to our Data Protection Officer at admin@connectcoach.app.

2.What we collect

Your account

  • Your email address and password, or your mobile number if you sign in with a texted code.
  • Your first and last name, a nickname if you add one, your profile photo, and whether you are a student or a coach.
  • If you choose to give them: your gender and date of birth. Only you can see these in the app.
  • When you agreed to these policies, and which version.

If you book sessions

  • Your sports, skill levels and rating if you add one, and the area you search in.
  • Your requests and bookings: the sport, time, place, number of people, your level and budget, and the names and levels of any guests you add.
  • Coaches you save as favourites, and the ratings you leave.

If you coach

  • Your bio, credentials, sports, rates, packages, hours, coaching photos, and the courts you teach at, with their addresses and map pins.
  • If you ask to be verified: a photo of your government ID and a selfie holding it, your name as it appears on the ID, and its expiry date.
  • If you add one: your PHPA certificate number, the name on it, and a photo of it.
  • Where the app offers them: your payment QR code, your wallet balance and top-ups, and the fees taken from it.

When you use the app

  • Your chat messages with coaches or students.
  • Reports, feedback, and problems you report with a booking, with the details you write.
  • Where the app asks for them, payment receipts: screenshots a student uploads, or photos a coach takes. These can show a name, a mobile number and a reference number.
  • Your location, only while you use the app and only if you allow it, to find coaches and courts near you. We do not track your location in the background. We keep only the search area or court pins you save.
  • A push notification token for your device, and your notification and email choices.
  • If the app crashes: what went wrong, the screen you were on, the app version, and your device model and system version. We strip email addresses and sign-in tokens out of these reports before they are sent.

On our websites

  • If you join the waitlist: your email, whether you play or coach, and the province and city you choose. We also keep the approximate country, region and city our host works out from your connection (never your IP address itself), and the link or campaign that brought you.
  • If you use the contact form: your name, email, the topic and your message.
  • Pages visited and how fast they loaded, counted without cookies and without identifying you.

Your date of birth and your government ID are sensitive personal information under the law. We only collect them if you choose to give them, and only use them for the purpose we asked for them.

3.How we use it, and why we may

To run the service you signed up for
Your account, profiles, search, requests, bookings, chat, notifications, emails about your account, and the coach wallet. We need this information to provide the service under our Terms.
To keep people safe and the service honest
Checking coaches' identities, PHPA certificates, reviewing reports and problems with bookings, suspending accounts, and preventing fraud and misuse. This is our legitimate interest, and for ID photos, your consent.
To fix and improve ConnectCoach
Crash reports, speed measurements, page counts, and feedback. This is our legitimate interest in a service that works.
To meet the law
Keeping records of money paid to us for tax purposes, and answering lawful requests from the authorities.
With your consent
Optional details such as your date of birth and gender, and your ID photos. You can withdraw consent at any time, though we may then be unable to verify you.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising. A person on our team decides every verification, report and suspension. The one automatic step is pausing a coach's listing after repeated late cancellations, and our team reviews it before it is lifted.

4.Who can see your information

Other people on ConnectCoach

  • Other signed-in users can see your name, nickname and profile photo, and the ratings people have left.
  • A coach and the student who booked them see each other's full names. Other students on the same session see only your photo, your level, and your first name or nickname. If you keep your name private, they see a masked version of it, never your surname.
  • A coach's profile, coaching photos, sports, rates, ratings and the courts they teach at are shown to students looking for a coach. If a coach shares their profile link, anyone with it sees their first name, photo, badges, sports, prices and city, but never their courts' exact places.
  • Your chat messages are seen by the person you are chatting with.
  • A coach sees the payment receipts for their own bookings.

The Philippine Pickleball Academy (PHPA)

Only if you are a coach and send a PHPA certificate: PHPA sees your name, profile photo, sports, certificate number and certificate photo, to confirm the certificate is yours. If you send the certificate together with your ID, PHPA's verification staff also see your ID photo and selfie, as the app tells you before you send them. PHPA receives this under a data-sharing agreement with us.

Our team

A small team of staff can see account details, including your email, to run the service, review reports, check verifications and answer you. Each person sees only what their role needs. ID photos are opened through links that expire within minutes, and every decision is logged. We do not read chats as a matter of course; we may look at a conversation when investigating a report or when the law requires it.

Companies that run parts of the service for us

They act on our instructions, under contracts that require them to protect your information:

  • Supabase: our database, sign-in, file storage and server functions, hosted in Sydney, Australia.
  • Vercel: hosts our websites and counts page visits and speed.
  • Resend: sends our emails. Our website's waitlist and contact messages reach us through GoDaddy email.
  • Google: maps, place search and address lookup in the app and on the customer website. Firebase delivers notifications to Android phones.
  • Expo: delivers push notifications to the app.
  • PhilSMS: sends sign-in codes by text, only if you sign in with a mobile number.
  • PayMongo and Maya: take payments where the app offers in-app payment or wallet top-ups. They handle your card or wallet details; we never see them.
  • Apple, Google and RevenueCat: only if the app offers a paid subscription, to take the payment and tell us it went through.

When the law requires it

We share information with the authorities when the law requires us to, or when it is needed to protect someone from serious harm. If ConnectCoach or ConnectPH IT Solutions is ever sold or merged, your information would pass to the new owner under this policy, and we would tell you first.

5.Information stored outside the Philippines

Our database is in Australia, and some of the companies above are based in the United States or elsewhere. When your information leaves the Philippines, we stay responsible for it, as the Data Privacy Act requires, and we only use companies that protect it to a comparable standard.

6.How long we keep it

Your account and profile
Until you delete your account.
ID photo and selfie
Deleted 7 days after we decide on your verification. We keep the decision itself.
PHPA certificate photo
Kept while you are PHPA certified. Deleted 30 days after a certificate is declined or withdrawn.
Payment receipts
Deleted 60 days after the session.
A coaching photo our team removes
Deleted 30 days after it is removed, so you have time to ask us to look again.
Chat messages
Until either person in the chat deletes their account.
Bookings, ratings, reports and wallet records
Kept after an account is deleted, without the name, because the other person's history and our tax records depend on them.
Crash reports
Up to 12 months.
Waitlist and contact messages
Until we launch to your area and no longer need them, or until you ask us to delete them.

When you delete your account in the app, we delete your profile, private details, photos, ID and certificate photos, courts, hours, favourites, notifications and chats straight away, and close your login. The same email can be used to sign up again later.

7.How we protect it

Information travels encrypted. The database lets each person read only what is theirs or meant for them. Staff access is limited by role and logged, and ID photos are kept in private storage and deleted on the schedule above. No system is perfectly safe. If a breach puts your information at real risk, we will tell you and the National Privacy Commission within 72 hours of finding out, as the law requires.

8.Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to:

  • be told what we collect and why, which is what this page is for;
  • see the information we hold about you, and get a copy of it in a common format;
  • have anything wrong corrected;
  • object to our use of it, or withdraw consent you gave;
  • have it deleted or blocked when we no longer have a reason to keep it;
  • be compensated if you are harmed by its misuse; and
  • complain to the National Privacy Commission at privacy.gov.ph.

You can change most of your details yourself in the app, and delete your account under Profile, then Account. For anything else, write to admin@connectcoach.app. We may ask you to confirm it is you before we act.

9.Children

ConnectCoach accounts are for people 18 and over. A parent or guardian can book sessions for a child from their own account. Coaches must have a parent or guardian's permission before uploading a photo in which a child can be recognised. If we learn that a child has made an account, we will delete it.

10.Cookies and similar technology

  • The customer website uses cookies to keep you signed in and to remember whether you collapsed the sidebar.
  • This website remembers your light or dark theme choice in your browser. It sets no cookies for most visitors.
  • Visit and speed counting on both websites uses no cookies and does not follow you to other sites.
  • The app keeps you signed in on your device, and remembers whether you asked it to.

11.Notifications and emails

You can turn push notifications and emails about bookings off in the app's settings. We still send the messages your account needs: confirming your email, resetting your password, and telling you if your account is suspended.

12.Changes to this policy

We will update this page when what we collect or how we use it changes. The date at the top says when it last changed. If a change matters to you, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
